 The community of Otter Point is reviewing its Official Community Plan and needs to update its records of the early history of the area. Past and present residents of Otter Point, as well as others who have an interest in the history of the community, are invited to a workshop to review the historical information already collected and help us with new, incomplete or incorrect information.  Tues.   The consultation process to decide which Monday in February will be Family Day started May 8 and runs to a closing date of May 22. It's an opportunity for public input at http://blog.gov.bc.ca/bcfamilyday/  or on Facebook or Twitter: #mybcfd . With the addition of Family Day in 2013, BC will have 10 statutory holidays. Five other provinces celebrate Family Day on the 3rd Monday in February.

 EMCS Grad Prom. Fri., June 22, 7:30 - 11:00 pm at Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria.  $65/person (tickets for sale at EMCS office until June 15). From EMCS website: "To attend, all graduating students must complete their Grad Transitions, and must have a record of good behaviour and attendance up to the date of Prom. Prom is an alcohol free event. Students are to arrive at Prom with a parent. Students must NOT arrive to Prom in a Limosine. Limos can pick students up after the Prom."
